Given by Rav Mattisyahu Fishbane, the father in law of the Rosh Hayeshiva Rabbi Michoel Schoen, the Hachnosas Sefer Torah was a spectacular event. Starting up the street in a shul, the last final letters were written with many people, among them the Kesher boys, being honored with the writing of a letter. From there, accompanied by flaming torches and music the boys, the many guests along with many of the local residents sang and danced with the Sefer Torah all the way to the Yeshiva. In the Yeshiva the dancing continued on and on, the energy and pure simcha was felt by one and all. Following the dancing the whole yeshiva and all the guests went to the nearby Jerusalem Gate hotel for a lavish Se'udah. During the meal the underlying idea spoken about in all the speeches was how befitting it was to have the Sefer Torah given to Kesher, a place where the love of Torah is renewed and reawakened in so many of the students.
