OUR BUILDING
Kesher is housed in a spacious modern building located close to the main entrance to Jerusalem on a quiet dead-end street. It is less than a one-minute walk to the Jerusalem Central Bus Station and the Center One shopping mall. It is in close proximity to a number of Jerusalem neighborhoods.
The building has five floors and was built approximately twenty years ago. It has steam heating and is partially air-conditioned. It stands on its own plot with gardens on four sides.
THE GROUND FLOOR
The building's lower ground floor includes Beis Hamedresh and five classrooms. The Beis Hamedresh is large, airy and very comfortable. It is air-conditioned and has a well-equipped library. It also opens up onto a large spacious courtyard which is a very popular area with the students. The openness plus the greenery produce a wonderful atmosphere to study and discuss.
Also on the lower ground floor is a fully-equipped workout room with state-of-the-art machines. The workout room is open at lunch time and in the evenings and is in constant use.
Next to the workout room is the music room. This is a state-of-the-art studio equipped with the latest instruments where the more musical student can express and develop his talents.
The ground floor houses the administration offices, a conference room, a large airy dining room, a modern kitchen and a storage area.
Approximately 300 meals are served daily. Breakfast is made in-house and lunch and dinner are brought in by caterers, as are the Shabbat meals.
THE FIRST FLOOR
The first floor houses the chill room. Here the students can relax on the couches, play ping pong, table soccer or enjoy a video game of one of the four, full size, monitors. There is also a Computer Station with four computers that can be used for e-mails, games or researching on the internet (with supervision).
In addition, this floor has two therapy rooms for both group and individual therapy.
Finally, the first floor has the apartment of the Av Bayit (House Master). The Av Bayit lives with his family in the building to ensure constant supervision.
THE DORMITORY
The upper two floors have a total of twenty dormitory rooms, housing sixty two students. The rooms vary in size from double rooms to rooms with five beds. They are light and airy and have large porches.
